THREE UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES

SYDNEY, May 25.

The State nominations closed with three members unopposed—namely one United Australia and two Country Party candidates, including the party leader, Mr. Bruxner. For the remaining 87 contested seats there are 302 aspirants.

The United Australia Party has 57 and the Country Party 34 candidates in the field, but there are also a number of unattached candidates who are supporting the Government’s policy at present described as Unity candidates.

The Lang nominees number 7 6 and Federal Labourites 30. Seven of the remainder are eithei’ Independents or Communists. Mr. Lang has four opponents and Mr. Stevens one, a Lang candidate.
