For Obstructing Police CLERK’S FOOLISH ACTION “WHY SHOULD I MOVE!” (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Hugh Smith, aged 21, a clerk, asked last night by a. constable in Cuba Street to “move on please,” got a month’s imprisonment to-day on a charge of obstructing. It was stated that he went to the kerb and stood lighting a cigarette. The police were having some difficulty in keeping the crowd moving and accused replied to the effect: “Why should I?” or “what for,” and refused to move.
