’ '-' u ■ i STAGGERING- BILL RAISED IN FORTNluur By Telegraph —Copyright —Press Assn. SYDNEY, Last Night. The Legislative Assembly was staggered when the Prime Minister (Hon, J. G. Lang) introduced the Taxation on Mortgages Bill, under which, by a tax of ten per cent, on every mortgage upon land or any estate or interest .therein, he aims to produce £7,000,000 revenue. The tax must be paid within fourteen days.
