The indications are for south-easter-ly winds, strong to gale.
The weather appears likely to be cloudy ami unsettled; with rain probable, and in places heavy rain is to be
expected. The barometer is rising soon.
SQUALLY AND UNSETTLED Following is the Government metem ologist’s weather report and tore cast, issued last night: — Although pressure has risen continuously over New Zealand a cyclone remains centred west of Cape AFaria A’an Diemen. An anti-cyclone extends from Australia, to southern New Zealand. AVinds variable and at times squally; northcrlies prevailing over the North Island, and southerlies over the south; southerlies or south-easterlies are likely gradually to become general and freshen in places to gale force. Seas mainly rough in New Zealand waters. Strong south to south-east winds to gales in the eastern Tasman Sea. and rough seas. Weather still unsettled with further rain and some heavy falls in places? improving gradually in western and southern, districts. Temperatures becoming cooler.
