A Taranaki farmer gave it as his opinion ** that there would be a big slump in dairy stock in the near future owing to so many heifer calves having been kept this year. In one small area where last year there were 11 heifer calves, to-day close on 120 were to be seen, and this, it was stated, was typical of many similar areas.
