The members of the farm staff of Pukeora Sanatorium met last evening to say “farewell” to Mr L. Jourdain. Mr Jourdain has been attached to the poultry section at Pukeora for the past two and a half years, and has been transferred, on promotion, as assistant in, the poultry section of the Government experimental farm at Wallaccville. The postmaster, Mr J. Holmes, in making the presentation said ho regretted Mr Bovin was leaving, as he was a proficient and popular officer. The superintendent (Mr Pike) and the staff would endorse his remarks. However, he wished Mr Bevin all future luck and hoped that whenever he used the gift he w r ould think kindly of Waipukurau. He then handed Mr Bevin a handsome silver cigarette case. Mr Bevin, in replying, thanked Mr Holmes and the, staff for their expressions of goodwill and said that he would always remember the good times he had in Waipukurau, and especially his friends with whom he got on so .well. Mr Bevin left on the express train yesterday morning. Mr , Davis of Hawera has been transferred ' to take his place in Waipukurau.
