PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS Commenting on the Secretary’s report to the monthly meeting of the Central Hawke’s Bay Power Board which met in Waipukurau to-day Mr Witherow expressed the opinion that the meter readers should prompt a larger portion of the accounts for current being paid into the office. He questioned the wisdom of paying so much by way of per cent, commission to the several agents. Mr Gcodger considered that the present basis is satisfactory and economical. He said that it would not be , wise for the readers to take up their time on collection efforts. Messrs Pattison and Rathbone expressed the view that the present method was the best. The Secretary said that the amount paid through the medium of the meterreaders had diminished somewhat. No action was taken GENERAL MATTERS It was resolved, “on the motion of V/ V ■ Mr Goodger, that the Board purchase a recording power factor meter, which will, be utilised in conjunction with the recently purchased maxigraph for checking the Public Works Department’s metering. Some discussion ensued in regard to peak load factors in relation to hotwater services, divergent opinions being expressed as to extension efforts.' No action was taken in the matter.
