WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

SUCCESSFUL meeting. A very successful and largely attended meeting was held in St. Andrew’s Schoolroom yesterday afternoon, Miss Wilsdn presiding. Before the programme w< s commenced Miss Wilson moved a vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr Raul Hunter, the motion being carried in silence. Miss Wilson (President) gave a most interesting and instructive address on Egypt, in addition to which there were competitions, games, and some clever lighning sketches by Mrs J. Bibby, of Waipawa. Additional interest was lent to the meeting by theprcsence of members from Waipawa, Onga Onga, and Tikokino institutes, who were paying their first official visit. During an interval in the proceedings Mrs Bibby (Waipawa), on behalf of visiting members expressed pleasure for the opportunity given them .'o attend, and hoped tfy?y would -have a visit from Waipukurau .members in the near future. .These monthly metings, with their varied programmes, are steadily increasing in popularity ,and although the Institute , is quite a new organisation here, it is already filling a want in the social life of the town..
