DUNEDIN LOSS.

DUNEDIN, This Day.

A disastrous fire, early this morning, gutted Messrs Steven and Co.’s flourmill, “Water of Leith,” owned by Messrs Harraway and Co. The brigade arrived at 4 o’clock, to find the positioiT hopeless, the whole building being a mass of flames. Dwellings in the vicinity were threatened, but the brigade' saved them, scathless. It is suspected that the origin was a faulty switch. Insurances arc unavailable, but the total loss of valuable machinery and stocks, involves very many thousands.
