EXPORT OF PRODUCE.

CUTTING OUT NAPIER.

The possibility of Napier Teing cut out as a port for thoMireet shipment of butter and cheese to the Old Country has again arisen, despite the fact that only a few weeks ago, when the matter was taken up with the Dairy Control Board, such a possibility was denied. However, information that has now been received indicates that Napier as a dairy produce export port is to be cut out, and this has caused a good deal of concern to the dairy factory owners.

The coining to Hawke’s Bay this week of the Prime Minister affords an opportunity of clearing the matter up, and so it is proposed that a deputation from the Napier Chamber of Commerce, dairy factory managers and the Napier Harbour Board, should wait upon Mr Coates on his arrival at Hastings tomorrow night, to discuss the position.
