The other day a scholar from S.lverstream school was going homeward .along the railway line when he noticed ~that a, log had slipped from the hill blocked the track at a turn in the line between S Jverstreain station and the bridge. The youngster went on towards the incoming train (2.5 p.m. from Lambton), and signalled the driver, who managed to pull up within a foot or two of the obstacle.
