CHRISTMAS AT THE “SAN.”

RED CROSS SOCIETY FUNCTION. MARRED BY BAD WEATHER. Last Saturday, despite the inclement weather, the Red Cross Society held its usual gift day at the Sanatorium. There was an attendance of about sixty visitors, but owing to the rain the cut of doors programme embracing tennis, bowling and like competitions had to be abandoned and the function was held in the social hall. Competitions and games were indulged in and several ladies contributed musical items. Davis’ jazz band was in attendance and considerable enlivened the proceedings. After those present had partaken of afternoon tea, Mrs J. H. Pagett was asked to present the patients with their Christmas gifts. Dr. Litchfield, on behalf of the patients thanked the Red Cross Society and visitors for providing the Christmas cheer. Afternoon tea was provided by Tire ladies of the Red Cross.
