A return compiled by the secretary of the H.B. Education Board on the attendance at the Board schools during the past year is decidedly interesting In 1908 the average weekly roll was 9721 as against 10,046 in 1909, and the average attendance was 84158 and 8894 respectively, a very substantial increase. During the past year the Board had to erect and equip 15 new schools in the East Coast district.
