(,Special to Examiner.) THE WOOL SALES. Napier, Last Night. The Napier branch of_the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company have receive ! from their London office the following cable, dated 9thinstant: — Wool Since the date of our last telegram nearly all descriptions have declined per lb., except lambs and fine cross-breds, for which the market is unchanged, and coarse cross-bred, which is easier. The American demand is good, but wools of a faulty chai acter are neglected. The total quantity catalogued to date is 164,000 bales, of which 15,000 bales are withdrawn.

MESSRS STEVENS AND GORTON’S REPORT. Since our Inst report we have held six sales—at Sanson on the 2nd instant, Foxtou on the 3rd, Palmerston on the 4tli, clearing sale of Hon. J. D. Ormond's stock at Woodville on the sth, Woodville on the 6th, and our annual ram fair at Bulls on the 9th. In the earliest sales we were met with a sharp drop in. prices of stock of all classes. Since the rain a gradual improvement has been manifes:, particularly in four and five year old breeding ewes of good quality. Our annual ram fair on the 9th was weil attended, and for good sheep the demand was brisk. Between 14,000 and 15,000 sheep were yarded, and with the exception of two lines of two-tooth ewes and a few old sheep we quitted the whole at prices mostly above vendors' expectations. The rams offered were inferior in condition and quality to previous sales, but good sheep were eagerly competed for. The Lincoln rams offered by Messrs Robert Wilson, W. Morrison, R. B.
