THE MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
WOODVILLE
It was generally anticipated that the contest tor the Woodvi le Mayoralty would have been keener than the result proved. A large number of voters were laid up with influenza and as many of them as could be safely moved were brought to the poll. The result was the re-election of Mr Barnett by an overwhelming majority the figures being:— H. BURNETT 80 Wm. SYMS 18 MASTERTON. {Special to Examiner.) Masterton, This Day. The Mayoral election, resulted as follows : C. A. Pownall (re-elected) 151 E. Feist 181 . Great interest was taken in the election. HASTINGS. Special to Examiner. Hastings, This Day. The election resulted in the return of Mr Burnett’s predecessor to office, the figures being;— G. Ellis 148 Burnett 92 PALMERSTON NORTH. (Special to Examiner.) Palmerston, This Day. Mr Snelson was re-elected Mayor for Palmerston by an overwhelming majority over his opponent, Mr E. Edwards.—239 to 94. WELLINGTON, H. D. Bell 1060 C. F. Worth 541 DUNEDIN. C. R. Chapman 754 M. Cohen 412 H. F. Hardy 225 CHRISTCHUCH. W. Prudhoe 604 Geo. Bennington ... ... 544
