CAMPBELL & SCbTT’S CATTLE SALE REPORT. It is hard to say what nas come over the settlers in this district. At our monthly sale on Friday last, not a single beast wae till half an hour previous to our holding the sale. The settlers used to ssy, “ Why enter cattle when there are no buyers ?" On Friday last buyers came from Pahiatua, Kumeroa, and Paltnerato We could have sold over 400 head o stock, and yearling steers and heifers are now in demand. It is hardly fair on the buyers or auctioneers that settlers will not enter their cattle. They appear to expect that buyers will be at the yards although their cattle have not been entered and are rushed in at ehe last moment. We have been doing all in our power to assist settlers, and the least we can expect in return is support from them. We hope to see several early entries at our next sales.
