Yesterday afternoon a very serious accident happened to a man named Carl Bruhn, employed at the Harding's Road Bridge over the Manawatu. Bruhn was walking along one of the stringers of the bridge when someone called to him and in turning round he lost his footing and fell a distance of 30 feet into the river bod. When picked up it was found that he had a compound fracture of the arm, and was otherwise badly bruised. Dr Fussell set the broken arm and Bruhn has been taken to the Waipukurau Hospital.
