The butchers of Rangiora and surroundmg district have intimated that the price of meat has been risen. The actress (Miss Fortescue) who has just become the wife of the eldest son of Lord Cairns is after all plain Mias Finney, the daughter of a wealthy coal merchant, head of the well-known London firm of Finny, Steel, and Co,, whose carts are seen everywhere in the “ city and suburbs.”
