Berlin, October 9. The Reichstag is convoked for the 16th instant. The budget to be submitted proposes to increase the appropriation for the navy and coast defences by 5,000,000 thalers. The workmen of Ghent are on strike. They demand a reduction of hours, and double pay for overtime. A Protestant league is in course of formation throughout Germany for the expulsion of Jesuits from the couatry. At a meeting at Darmstadt, resolutions were passed opposing the inf'alliud&rine as inimical to the sovereignty of the State and the liberty of the people. The kingdom of Bavaria is to recall foreign ambassadors, and in future will be represented only as a portion of the German Empire.
