v OTAGO.— Tho "Daily Times" of September 21 reports: — The produce market closes with a very depressed feeling, and only the moat | meagre transactions have gone forward. Scarcely any sales of wheats have come undor j notice. Holders quote prices equal to last week's rates, but ifc is probable these will not now be sustained. Millers have had bufc alight enquiry for flour; the quotations are nominally unchanged. Oats have been quitted, fair samples at 2s sd, and some prime milling afc 28 2d to 2s 4d. Since our last there has been nothing of moment going forward in the auction marts. Melbourne. — The " Argus" of September 14, reports : — A very nioderate amount of business has been transacted in the import; markets to-day, but sa'es generally have so largely partaken of a retail character as to have excited little, if any, interest whatever. Breadstuffs show no animation, flour is offering at £14 10s to £15, according to brand, but only small lots are disposed of. An attempt was made to quit an Adelaide country brand at auction, but there was nothing sold. Adelaide wheat was at same time got rid of at 5s ll£d. About a thousand bushels prime Adelaide, disposed of privately, were placed afc 6s net. Feeding grains are very quiet. Oats, according to sample, are held afc 3s 3d to 3s 7d for good feeding to good milling. A few odd parcels have been quitted afc our quotations.
