Lyttelton, 26th— 9.35 a.m., Phoobe, from Wellington. Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood and Co.'s Bteamßhip Gothenburg left Hobson's Bay at 3.40 p.m. on the 14th ; cleared the Heads afc 7.20 p.m., and passed Swan Island on the following day afc 6.40 p.m ; experienced strong easterly winds for firet two days, then northeasters for the remainder of the passago across. Passed the Solander at 9.30 p.m. on the 19tb, and arrived afc the Bluff at 6 a.m. on the 20th ; discharged cargo, and sailed at 4 p.m., and experienced fine weather to arrival afc Port Chalmers ; leffc Porfc Chalmers at 5 p.m. on the 22nd, and arrived off Oamaru afc midnight ; leffc again afc midnight on the 23rd, and arrived at Lyttelton at 4 p.m. on fche 24fcb ; leffc Lyttelton at 6 p.m. on the 25th, and arrived at Wellington afc 10 p.m. yesterday. On passing Capo Campbell she picked up the steamer Ahuriri, short of fuel, and towed her into this porfc. The s.s. Ahuriri, Captain M'Kinnon, left Lyttelton at 4.30 p.m. on the 25th, and experienced strong head wind with heavy sea till arrival in this harbor. When off Cape Campbell ran Bhorfc of coals, and was taken in tow by fcho steamer Gothenburg. The paddle-steamer Clyde arrived in Lyttelton harbor on the 25th instant, from Auckland. A Sydney telegram in the " Argus," dated fche llth instant, reports :•— The Chamber of Commerce has received a letter from Levuka intimating that porfc dues had been imposed from the Ist day of July last. An Auckland papers mentions that there is some likelihood thafc the steamer Keera, so long laid up, will be put into commission onco more. Ifc ia intended thut 6ho is fco take fche place of the steamer Lord Ashley in fcho Southern trade; We notice by the "Sydney Morning Herald" of September 2, that the steamers Phoebe and Lord Ashley are advertised for eale by Mr William Laidley, of that city; also, fchafc the favorite brig Lady Denison, of Wanganui, by Learmouth, Dickinson and Co. The steamer Kennedy is to be placed on the fllip afc Nelson, and fcho steamer Murray will proceed to Dunedin to repair the injuries sustained by her recent collision. Ifc is said fchafc she will undergo considerable alterations at the same time, as it is contemplated to lengthen ber sixteen feefc, increasing her carrying capacity and cabin accommodation. The three-masted schooner Ocean Wave, Captain Griffith, for Wellington, sailed on Sunday from Lyttelton. From a private source tha "Lyttelton Times" is able to give a fow particulars concerning the Speedy, brig, so long overdue at fchafc porfc from Liverpool. Ifc appears that she put into Georgetown, ahout forty miles below Launceston, Tasmania, short of water, and with lobs of bulwarks and sails, having encountered very severe weather. She was to have sailed for that porfc on tho llth instant, bufc ifc waa extremely doubtfnl whether she would get away on that day. Official information has been received in Melbourne, from Ceylon, to the effect that fche crew of H.M.S. Mageera, shipwrecked on St. Paul's Island, have been removed. The vessel was wrecked on St. Paul's on the 19th of June. The brief telegram on tho Buhject received in Melbourne comes via Galle from Batavia, and is dated Bth August. The veßsel would appear to be in a sinking state when sho went, or was pufc, ashore. No life was lost.
