♦ [PER GREVILLE'S TEL. CO., RBUTBR's AGENTS/} Hokitika, Wednesday. The Supreme Court criminal sittings commenced today. The calendar is exceptionally light. There are five cases, but none of them important. A true bill was found in each case. In the charge to the Grand Jury, Judge Richmond paid a touching tribute to the memory of Mr Abbott, the late registrar. Dunedin, Wednesday. The officers of the Nevada will be entertained at dinner to-morrow, by the residents of the Port ; in Dunedin, by the Chamber of Commerce on Friday. Her sailing is postponed till Monday. Patea, Wednesday. Parris has returned from his visit to the Mokau natives. The meeting terminated most satisfactorily. Tauranga, Wednesday. Charles Harley, a publican residing at Kati Kati, was arrested yesterday. He was tried to-day, and committed for trial. He was charged with selling ammunition to the natives. Commissioner Clarke meets the Hau* haus to-morrow.
