Monday, Mabck 20. (Before J.C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) ASSAULT. Wm. Hall, who, it appeared, occasionally travels, under the alias Jolm Thomas, was charged with beating his wife. The heart of prosecutrix seemed to relent when placed in the witness-box, and her evidence was extracted rather unwillingly ; but as amplo evidence was forthcoming to show that the poor woman had been the victim of duel treatment, his Worship bound the prisoner over to keep the pence, himself in £10, and one Burety in a like amount. CIVII/. Cleland v Lawrence — Fraud summons. Ordered to pay 5s a week. Same v J. Lawson— Claim, £7 15b lOd. Judgment confessed. Same v D. Robertson— Claim, £1 13s 9d. Judgment for amount and costs. Fraser v Haggerty— Claim, £16 18s 6d Detinue of certain articles. Several of the articles ordered to be returned, plaint iff paying costs.
