SIE, — About two years ago the members of the colonial forces were informed by the Government that a medal would be granted to all those who had been actually under fire, or Otherwise distinguished themselves. A good many sent in applications in the proper form, but the opplicanfcs have heard nothing more of fche matter. Can you, through the medium of your columns, give us any information as to when it is likely they may be forthcoming ? Many of those who applied are loaving the colony. Some who are going to tho old coun - try would like to take a memento of fcheir services with fchem. By obtaining some information for us, you will oblige nofc only many of your readers, bufc also One of the Applicants. January 30th, 1871.
