FATAL ACCIDENT IN PUKEKOHE.
Yesterday a man named Matthew JMo» roney, while in the act of felling a tree afc Pukckohe, lost his life — the tree having fallen upon or. come in contact with him ia. some manner which I have not yet ascertained. He has, unfortunately, left a wife; and two infant children to lament his uu» timely fate ; and apart from this, his loss will be much felt by his fellow immigrants ia Pukekohe, where he kept a store, and being 1 a man possessed of some little capital, he has been in the habit of supplying stores to many who. not having immediate means of paying for them, got credit from Moroney until harvest time. — Correspondent of the. Southern Cross, Oct. 18.
