"VTOTIOE is hereby given, that Town, -Lt Suburban, and Rural Allotments, in the townships of Foxton and Palmoraton, in the Manawatu District, will be put up to public auction, at this office, on Wednesday, the 7th day of November next, at one o'clock p.m. The Township of Foxton is situated in the Lower Block, and contains the shipping port, with a large number of valuable town allotments ; also, some suburban and rural sections, at Motoa, of excellent quality. The township of Palmerston is situated in the Upper Manawatu Block, and contains town suburban, and raral allotments. A large portion of the suburban and rural allotments aro laid off along tho bank of the Manawatu river, and tho main lines of road now in progress of formation, leading to the navigable part of the river, the Forty Mile Bush, and Rangitiki, concentrate on tho town of Palmerston. Barton's run about 3,400 acres j On D. Riddiford's run about 6,500 acres j On G. Moore's run about 2,000 acres On W. ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH EXTENSION. fTIHE Electric Telegraph Commissioner is preX pared to receive Tenders for the supply and delivery of Telegraph Poles between the City of Wellington and Masterton, along a route to be j indicated by the Telegraphic Engineer, and which i will generally be along the line of the present j road. Tenders are to be made at a price per pole, and will be received for the following description of poles : — Ist. For square Bawn posts to bo cut from the heart of totara, matai, blue gum, or stringy bark. The whole of tho posts to be straight and free j from fehakes or sap, to be- 25 feet in length, 8 inches square at the butt, and 6 inches square at the top, and to be chavred for a length of .6 feet measured from the butt end. 2nd. For totara, matai, or kowai saplings, 25 feet long, 12 inches through at the butt, and 7 inches through at tho top. These poles to be straight, sound, and free from loose knots, and to be barked and cleaned throughout their whole length, au^pharred for a length of 6 feet measured from the butts. Separate Tenders will rlso be recoived for proparing the ajbovo poles for cros9-ann3 and roofs, and for the erection of the poles at points to be indicated by the Telegraphic Engineer. The usual gurantees will be required. Specifications can be seen, and further particulars obtained (if necessary) on application to the Telegraphic Engineer, at the .Telegraph Station, Wellington. Tenders addressed, "The Telegraphio Engineer, Wellington," and endorsed, "Tenders for Telegraph Poles," .to be sent in not later than 11 a.m. on the 15th November.
