LONDON WOOL REPORT.

August 25, 1866. The third series of sales for this year commenced on the 16th of August, the arrivals to that date comprising Sydney, 39,683 bales ; Port Philip, 16,062 bales ; Van Diemon's Land, 8919 bales ; New Zealand, 41,386 bales ; Adelaide, 6958 bales; Swan River, 456 bales ; Cape, 19,175 bales ; total, 133,339 bales. The opening sale was well attended by the home trade, but. exporters were in small attendanco. Prices opened fully equal to the average range of tho May-June series, with a tendency against the buyer, the reduction in the Bank rate from 10 to 7 per cent, creating confidence. The sales continue to progress satisfactorily at full prices, and the home trade are liberal buyers of all descriptions. An easier money market will creato a firm market, and wo anticipate that the whole of the arrivals will sell freely at present quotations.
