Small lots of j bacon and hams have boon sold, to arrive, nt the ' U8;wl high quotations, and a few cmes are to j hiuid from Melbourne, for which Is 10J is asked. English cheese and butter are si ill out of the market: of colonial, Ihe first realises 2s 3d, and j tho last Is 3d. Spirits and wines have only been nuderately looked for. First-class brftndies and whiskies are decidedly improving in value, but we have heard of ro transactions sufficiently extensive to fix liiglioi 1 quotations. Geneva is in small ; supply, JDKZ being helrl for 15s. A il'\v hogsheads of bulk alca to hand, per Alhambrn, found ready sale j the article being wanted in consequence of shipments from Brcat .Britain, "expected for some time past, not j yet being to hand. Bottled nlcs are in dull ! demand, though values are undisturbed. Stout is wanted, and shipments expected are reported as having been placed at high figures.
