SOUTHLAND.
The Southland News of the Gth instant, reports of the Invercargill markets : — We have but little change to report since our last. A very fair amount of business lms been done, and, in some instances, at advanced rates. The stock of sugars is now becoming low, and, previous to arrivals, prices must rule higher. Brandy, in bulk, is in demand. The market has been for some time bare of Chilian Hour, and the small parcels per Titania will be readily taken up. Adelaide remains at last quotations. Of imported oatmeal we have had little on hand, and the introduction of the provincial article, which is of first class quality, will prove acceptable. For general groceries and oilmen's stores, there is a moderate sale to meet present necessities. Mr Binney reports that draught horses, for ploughing, are scarce and in request. Several buyers in the market.
