Business still continues very dull, Taut towards the end of next month the stations will be ordering their supplies, which we expect will relieve the heavy stocks now on hand, and likely to accumulate. "We are glad to notice by the English news received yesterday, that Exports from London have declined very considerably. Aa it is," with large stocks on hand, and several vessels having cleared for this port with fall and valuable cargoes, prices are likely to fall. The market is well supplied with liquids of all kinds, and such articles as draught and bottled beer have been sold at a reduction on previous quotations; Oilmen's stores are not much in demand, and nearly all other articles are a drug in the market There have been several sales by auction during the week. Messrs Owen Brothers sold, on Wednesday, a quantity of toys and fancy goods, which realised fair rates. The same firm request us to call attention to a large sale of teas, oilmen's stores, and a variety of other goods, to take place on Tuesday first The sale of damaged goods, ex Maria, at Messrs Johnston & Co's store, and another at the store of Mr E. Pearce, call for no special remark. Colonial Produce. — Butter. 450 kegs have been shipped to Auckland during the last month, which has nearly cleared the market Nominally quoted at Is 7d. Bacon.— A large supply on hand, and dull of sale. It may be quoted at 8d to 9d per lb. Potatoes. — Several parcels have come in from the Hutt during the week, which are readily bought up at £10 per ton.
