AUCKLAND.

Notwithstanding the dullness in commercial circles caused by the unsettled state of native affairs, a large amount of business has been transacted in the share market this week, at much higher rates than have lately been ruling. It having transpired that the directors of the New Zealand Insurance Company have resolved to take £6 from the reserve fund, and add it to the paid up capital (of each shai'e), making the shares of £12 each paid, instead of £6, and have in addition recommended a dividend of 10 per cent for the past half-year, there has been a considerable demand for shares, and although £15 has been asked, I have found it freely given for large parcelß. Holders are looking for an advance on this quotation after the half yearly meeting to bo held on Wednesday next. New Zealand Bank nhavoa have changed hands at £5 premium.
