The ship Maria, Captain Teuton, arrived in this harbor on Saturday last having 'left Gravesend on the Gth of March. She was detained in the channel for thirteen days ;by adverse winds, and in the early part of the voyage, till the line was crossed she experienced bad weather. Frem thence to Van Dieman's Land the passage was a fine one, but between that and Wellington the weather was again bad. During the voyage one of the seamen fell from the rigging, and sustained such severe injuries as resulted hi his death. The Maria, as will be seen from our published list, has brought 4 cabin, and 16 second cabin passengers including two children. She has a full cargo of general merchandise, and is consigned to Messrs. Levin & Co. Our Steamers. —The Lady Bird, which in common with the Storm Bird and Wonga, has been detained in Port by the heavy S.l& gale, will sail to day for Lyttelton and Dunedin, weather permitting. The s.s. Storm Bird when leaving the wharf on Tuesday night got foul of a rope, which became entangled with her screw and prevented its working. It will be seen to-day whether the rope can be got off, in which case (weather permitting) the Storm Bird will at once sail for the North, and the Wonga for Wangauui and Taranaki. If, however, the screw cannot be set right in time, her cargo will be transhipped into the Wonga, which will be despatched in her placo, the Storm Bird in that case going to Wanganui and Taranaki. _«.
