ORDER IN COUNCIL. Appointing District of Porirua under the Native Circuit Courts Act. G. Grey, Governor. At the Government House, at Auckland, on the 24th day of January, 1863. Present : — His Excellency the Governor in Council. 11/ HERE4IS by an Act of the General * * Assembly of New Zealand intituled " The Native Circuit Courts Act, 1858," it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Counoil from tima to time to appoint Distriots for the purposes of the said Act being Districts over whicn the Native Title shall not for the time being have been extinguished. Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advico and consent of his Executive Council, doth hereby order, appoint, and declare that the Territory hereinafter described shall be a distriot for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say : All territory bounded towards the North by the Manawatu district, as constituted by Order in Council of even date herewith, towards the East by the Tatarua and Rimutaka Ranges, towards the West by the coast line between the Kukutauaki stream and Pipinui Point ; and towards the South-east by a line from Pipinui Point to the Rimuta Range, including the Island of Mana; exceptiug all lands over which the Native Title has been extinguished within the meaning of the said Aot. And doth appoint and declare that the said district shall bo called the Native District of " Porirua." , And doth declare that this Order shall take effect from and after the first day of March, 1863. HIS Excelleucy the Governor has been pleased to appoint William Thomas Owen, to be Lieutenant in the " Wanganui Cavalry Volunteers." Date of Commis- j sion — 3rd January, 1863. Alfred Domett.
