Betting : 3to 2 against Otto, sto 2 against Ladybird, 3 to 1 against Certainty, 6 to 1 against Ultima and St. Patrick. After a little difficulty at staiting, the horses got well away together, Ladybird shewing first ia front, Otto and Certainty in close attendance, and the green jackets last. At the school-house, Otto closed up to the mare, and the three-year-old tried to get into company with the leading horses but failed, and renewed the attempt on coming into the straight running with the like result. Tne race up the ropes between Otto and Ladybird was a repetition of what had been before witnessed, the gelding being a little too good for the chestnut, and winning at the post by a length, the thiee.year-old three lengths behind, and the others no where. Time, 3 mm. 29 sees.
The WAIMEA STAKES of 10 soys, for all hacks entrance, 10 shillings each. Catch weights. No horse that has run for any save a hack race to be allowed to start. Stafford's b g St. Patrick, 4 yrei (Davis) 2 Mr Morse's eh f Certainty, 3 yrs .... (Cundv) 2 Certainty and St. Lawrence got away together, tbe other colt a length behind, and in this way they ran for a mile, when St. Lawience took a clear lead, carried on the running, and won easily, while his brother saint ran up and beat the filly for second place. Time, 2 mm. 29 sees.
The last day's sporfc (Wednesday's) included the following events. The Town, Plate won by Mr Redwood's Otto. The Scurry Plate, won by Mr Stafford's Maria. The Stock Race, won by Mr Crichton's Nancy. The consolation Plate, won by Mr Redwood's Lady Bird. The Forced Handicap, won by Mr Kedwood's Lady Bird. It is the intention of -W. Robinson Esq, to present us next year with a handsome silver Cup of the value ©f 100 guineas, to be then run for.— Ex aminer t 3rd January*
