CAi'TLE DRIVING. ■:--*':'' Provincial Secretary's Office, Wellington, 20th October, 1862. rn-HE attention of the Public is oalied to the A. following clause of "The Slaughter House Oct, 1862 '' ; instructions having been given to the Inspector of Police to enforce the snme. No Cattle intended for slaughter shall he driven through or in the Town of Wellington between the hours of Nine in tbe morning aud six in the evening, between the 31st day of March and the lst day of September, or between the hours of Eight in the morning and Nine in the evening between the 31st day of August and lst day of April, and every person so driving cattle intended for slaughter between the prohibited hours shall pay a penalty of one pound per bead for every head of Cattle so driven. Tbe christian name, surname, and residence of the owner of the every wain, waggon, dray and cart without springs shall be painted in legible characters eitkerwhite ou a black ground or black on a white ground of not less tban one inch and a half in length and with a fair proportionable breadth in seme conspicuous part on the off side of every such wain, waggon, dray and cart. Every owner failing to comply with the provisions of this clause shall be liable to a Penalty not exceeding 40s. PROCLAMATION. Do hereby, in pursuance of tbe Regulations ia tbis be half, Proclaim and Notifg that the several allotments of Land situate in the Pahau and Warehama Blocks, in the East Coast District, iv the Province of Wellington, and specified in tbe Schedule hereto, except such as may be reserved under the provisions hereafter mentioned, will be put up for sale by Public Auction, at the Crown Lands Office, in the Town of Wellington, on Friday, the I9th day of December, 1862, at One o'clock in the noonIf at any time during tbe sale it may appear to the Commissioner of Crown Lands beneficial or expedient for tbe public service to reserve from sale either of the sections specified in the said Schedule, or vary ,tie order in which they are to be put up, be is hereby authorised to do so.
