MEETING OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
A meeting of this body was held on Monday last in the Exchange, when there were present — VV. M. Banoatyue, Esq., Chairman, Messrs. W. W. Taylor, G. Hunter, C. li. Carter, J Plitnmer, R. J. Duncan, J. J. Tame, J. Smith J. P. Stuart W. Lyon, L. Levy, J. Woodward G. H. Luxford, J. Pearce, J. Dransfield, G Moore, W. Bowler, G. Crawford, and C. J Pbaiazyn.
The Chairman, said the first business of the meeting would be to elect a Secretary, and he read applications from Mr. B. Smith and Mr. Mr. W.. H. Meek for that offioe. Some discussion then ensued as to the proposed times of tneetitig, at the close of which Mr. \V. W. Taylor, ou the part of Mr. B. Smith, withdrew his application -for the office in question. Mr. Bowler seconded by Mr. Pearce, then moved, that Mr. W. H, Meek be appointed Secretary, which resolution was carried unamimously and there being no other business the meeting then adjourned.
