LONDON WOOL REPORT.
July, 1861. — The sales commenced on the 18th, the arrivals to that date consisting of 80,000 bales. The Sales opened with a smaller attendance of buyers, both home and foreign, than has been witnessed for a long time ; and although the catalogue offered comprised selections, biddings were made with caution and somewhat unevenly, at an average reduction of three half-pence per Ib. ; in some cases of faulty and illconditioned sorts, the declines were greater. It is quite evident from the tone of the room that present rates maintain, without a very Jarge acoession of buyers. Up to the present date about 12,500 bales have been submitted, all of which, except about 500 bales withdrawn, have been sold — merchants generally feeling anxious lo quit;
