Islands of Neiv Zealand. WHEREAS by an. Act of the Provincial Council of Wellington, Session 111., No. 8, intituled An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to cattle trespass and impounding, it was among other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation, to declare certain districts to be Pastoral Districts, and at any time to declare that such districts should cease to be Pastoral and come within the full operation of this Act : And whereas by Proclamation by the Superintendent, issued under the, Public Seal of the Province on the third day of April, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-six, the Superintendent proclaimed and declared that the portion of the Province of Wellington lying between the Ruahina and Tararua Mountains, and the Coast Eastward (except the places hereinafter mentioned) should be a Pastoral District for the purposes of the said Act : And whereas it is expedient that the portion' of the Province so proclaimed to be a pastoral district should now cease to be such; — -Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, aforesaid, in virtue of the power in that behalf vested in me, Do Hereby Proclaim and declare that the portion or the said Province situated between the Ruahina and Tararua Mountains, and the Coast Eastward shall from the first day of July next, cease to be a pastoral district, and shall therefore come within the full operation of the said Act. .
