Storm Bird, Captain Malcolm, from Napier via Cadtle Point, arrived iv port at B*3o p. m. on Sunday. She sailed from Napier on Saturday last at 3 p.m., passed Cape Turnagniu at 10*30 p. m., went under easy steam to Castle Point, where she arrived at 7a. m. of the 19th. The weather being so rough, and a heavy sea setting in from tbe eastward, could hold no communication with the shore. Mr. Guthrie endeavoured to come off, but r/ns compelled to put back n^ain. Left Castle Point at 9 a.m., and arrived iv Wellington as above, running the distanoe in 11_ hours. If no detention had taken place at Castle Point, the passage between Napier aud Wellington would hare beeu performed in '43 hours, ihe Sea Serpent, from Wellington, and the Adolphus from Newcastle, with coals, were lying nt Napier when the Storm Bird left. Some anxiety was being (alt at Ahuriri inconsequence of the unsettled state of Native affairs iv that Province.
