RECOMMENCEMENT OF

We are informed by Mr. 0. M'Donnell, that previous to his leaving Wanganui on Saturday evening last, information was received through the JVlaories, that hostilities at Taranaki had re-com-menced, with greater vigour than ever; that a large re-inforcement oi Waikatos had arrived there, and that the maorie3 were determined to make a stand, and fight it out. The intelligence was generally believed to be true at Wanganui , more especially as news ol peace arrived, through the same channel at Wanganui, three day's previously to its being publicly known there.
