Amount and costs paid into Court. Laing v. Arnell. — An action to recover the sum of £20. Judgment for amount and costs. James Hammell and Sarah Slarks charged with drunkenness. Hammell fined 55., Slarks 10s. and costs ss. 6d. Kegina r. Smith.— The evidence of Thomas Dixon and James Swinbourne was taken anj it appears not to be sufficient to charge the prisoner with the Larceny which was reported in our last issue, and prisoner was discharged. A Friday, 9lh November, 1860. Bradey v. Bowler.— Defendant was charged as the agent of a Mr. Viney, for permitting Thistles to grow upon a seotion of land at Porirua. Complainant was unable to prove agency, and the case was withdrawn. Standen v. Beadswortb. — Defendant was oharged with assaulting complainant and using abusive and threatening language towards complainant, who was desirous that the defendant should be called upon to find sureties to be of good behaviour. Upon defendant expressing xegret and promising to refrain from again doing the like and at the request of the com plainant the Court permitted this matter to be withdrawn. ' George Beers charged with drunkenness. Fined ss. EttOn v. Hugh Cleland.— -Defendant was charged with a breach of the Constabulaiy Force Ordinance, for permitting his horse and chaise to stand in the public street, leaving no one in oharg«N>f same. Defendant submitted a letter dated June 1851, that Sir G. Grey had rescinded the Begulations aud the case was dismissed. Saturday, 10th November, 1860. George Beers was charged with drunkenness. Fined 10s. Monday, \2lh November, 1860. George Young charged witb drunkenness Fined 10s.
