From the 'Government Gazette ,, Nov. 16. PROCLAMATION. By His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander in Chief, in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand, and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, "WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Lieutenant-Governor and the Legislative Council of the Colony, intituled "An Ordinance for establishing Standard Weights and Measures and fdr the prevention of the use of such as are false and deficient," Session VII, No. 10, the Governor is empowered from time to time by Proclamation to appoint and define the Towns and Districts to which the operation of the said Ordinance should extend. Now therefore, I, Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor .as aforesaid of the said Colony, in exercise of the said power and authority Do hereby proclaim and appoint that from and after the Twenty-sixth day of December, 1859, the operation of the said in part recited Ordinance shall extend to all that territory situate in the Province of Wellington in the said Colony, known and defined as the Electoral Districts of the City of Wellington, the Wellington Country, and the Hutt. Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, at Government House, at Auckland, this Twenty-fourth day of October, in. the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fiftynine.
