It is with sincere regret'we announce the deaih of Mr. Robert Houghton who expired on Sunday the 9th instant! after a short illness, occasioned by a severe cold, caught while attending to the Signal Station on Mount Albert and the Powder Magazine. • The deceased, who was highly respected, had'been in the Royal Navy, and foT a long period master of the Ramsgate and continental steamers. He came to New 'Zealand under the auspices of the Company— and continued in their employment until the Government appointed him to the Signal Station. He was a most industrious man, and skilful in his 'profession, and was highly respected by his fellow colonists. His remains will be conveyed to the cemetry, from his hte residence in Willis Street, to-morrow, Thursday, at 2 o'clock.
