A meeting of Magistrates was held yes terday, for the purpose of hearing and granting applications for licenced to publicans. When the following were grained : Barrett's Hotel, New Hotel, Kai Warra, Thistle Inn, Cottage of Content, New 2ealamler, The Aurora Tavern, The Hi<j;hlun<ler, Kai Warra, The Crown and Anchor, and the Freemasons Tavern. The Jicenee of the. Commercial Hotel* was objected to, on the ground, of this application being too late, but ihe Magistrates would willingly j°' n *" recommending the proprie* tors memorial to ihe Governor.
