CONDITIONS DURING MONTH OF MARCH PERIOD OF LOW WINDS Weather conditions in Waihi during the month of March are reported on as under by the local official recorder, Miss C. Dean:— Temperatures: Mean temperature in screen, 70 deg. Fah.; highest maximum, 80 deg. Fah. on the 3rd and 28th; lowest minimum, 42 deg. Fah. on the 11th; lowest grass minimum, 3 5 deg. Fah. on the 11th; range, 16 deg. Fah. Wind: Total run for month, 2567 miles; daily average, 8 2 miles. Rainfall: Total fall for month, 6.3 6 inches; days on which rain fell, 13; daily average on 13 days, .48 inches. Sunshine: Total hours of bright sunshine, 182 hours; daily average, 5 hours; sunless days, 2. Remarks: A rainfall of 6.3 6 inches was recorded against 9.25 inches in March, 19 47.. The greatest fall was of 3.12 inches on the 13th. Sunshine for the month was 182 hours against 188.5 in March, 1947.
