MR GEO. LORIMKR FAREWELL HI) JIADE LIFE -MEMBER OF CLUB Members of the Waihi Bowling 1 Club took 1 formal leave on the green recently of i\lr George Lorimer, a member of the club since 1921 and patron for the last two years. Mr Lorimer had retired after many years in business in Waihi, and was on the eve of his departure from the town. Reference to the various official positions which Mr Lorimer had occupied so capably during his long association with the club was made by the president. Air ft. Blackwood, who said that Air Lorimer had played his first game of howls as a club member in Waihi, and the club took the credit of having turned out the finished product that they had with them that day. (Laughter and applause). Time had made Air Lorimer a good howler, but. he had always been a happy associate, and it was Ids privilege and pleasure to announce that the club was pleased to make him a life member. and to present him with the silver badge of office in due course. Applause). In asking Mr Lorimer to accept a pipe and tobacco pouch, the .gift of his fellow-bowlers in AVaihi, Air Blackwood said all joined in wishing him health and prosperity wherever he made his home. Mr Lorimer would always ho welcome to the AVaihi green. Mr Lorimer suitably responded.
