FATAL ACCIDENT

I WELL-KNOWN FARMER KILLED ' BLOCK OF CONCRETE FALLS. DRAIN COLLAPSES. By Telegraph—-Press Association. TE AWAMUTU, this day. Before noon to-day a well-known farmer, Mr. Arthur Thomas Bryant, aged 37, of Orakau, was working in a concrete drain on his farm with an employee when the sides collapsed. A heavy block of concrete fell on Mr. P.ryant's head and death was practically instantaneous. It was about an hour before the body could be extricated.

The late Mr. Bryant was married with three young children and had resided at Orakau for several years. He was a son of Mr. J. T. Bryant, of Matangi, and took an active part in local affairs. He was president of the Te Awamutu branch of the Farmers' Union and chairman of the Kihikihi school committee. He was a progressive farmer and greatly respected.
