WEDDING BELLS

KENNEDY—MITCHELL. On Saturday, April 2, St. James' Presbyterian Church, Waihi, was the scene of a very when Mary, younger daughter of Mrs. H. McLeod and the late Mr. M. Mitchell, Scotland, was married to Roy, third son of Mr Charlie Kennedy, To Aroha, and the late Mrs. Kennedy. The bride, who was given away by her step-father, was charmingly attired in a slim iitting model frock of cream lace over satin, the skirt falling into an extended train which was held by an ornamented satin horseshoe. The bodice was cut with a high neck line finished with a spray of white flowers and the tight iitting sleeves tapering to a point over the wrists were trimmed with tiny satin buttons. A flowing tulle veil was arranged with a halo cap of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of cream lilies and pom-pom dahlias. On leaving the church little Miss Joan Ashby stepped forward and presented the bride with a silver horse-shoe as a token of good luck. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Betty Mitchell, who wore a redingote of apricot silk lace over satin, finished with a diamante buckle. She carried a beautiful .bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. Her . halo head-dress and shoes were of silver. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. A. Pennell. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Marshell and the organist was Mr. Wattam. After the ceremonony a reception was held in St. James' Hall, the bride's mother receiving her guests in a navy frock and coatee. She carried a bouquet of red roses and dahlias. The bridegroom's sister, Miss Mabel Kennedy, wore a frock of dull pink patterrie'i in navy and carried a bouquet of roses to tone.

Later the happy couple left on a motoring tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a navy tailored astrakhan coat over a navy silk redingote with hat and accessories to match.
