HOSPITAL FUSION

THAMES BOARD DISCUSSES MR LEVIEN'S REPORT CENTRAL SITE QUESTION The report of the commissioner, Mr F. H. Levien, S.M., on the hospital amalgamation question was considered by the Thames Hospital Board at its meeting this week, and it was decided that the board's views on the subject of the provision of a new base hospital at some future date be forwarded to the Minister of Health, Hon. P. Fraser. The chairman, Mr J. W. Danby, said there had been no suggestion of consideration of a site for a new hospital in the order of reference, but the commission had made a definite" recommendation on this point. The report generally was along the lines that could be adopted, but the introduction of the new hospital question might raise difficulties for the Thames board. After further discussion, a resolution was passed which will be sent to the Minister for Health. The resolution has not yet been released for publication.
