“FAST COMPANIONS" TONIGHT A racetrack screen play which actually races through an absorbing story with the aid of expert direction and excellent acting is "Fast Companions,’’ Universal’s drama which brings all the colour of the glamourous border pleasure resort, Agua Calicple, to local theatre-goers. Opening an engagement last night at the Academy Theatre,'"Fast Companions" lived up to all the enthusiastic advance notices heralded, proving again that a \yoH-w,oven story laid in a novel selling, intelligently‘cast ami directed, usually results ip the highest form of motion picture entertain* men!:. Maureen O’Sullivan, Tom Brown and Mickey Rooney are featured. Several good supports are also on the programme, which is to be repeated this afternoon and tonight.
“Sherlock Holmes,” taken from the famous hook by Conan Doyle, comes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next. Clive Brook is seen in the main role and is ably, supported by other English artists In Herbert. Mundin, Miriane Jordan and Ernest Torrence. It is really a great picture.
